Unless otherwise stated all reports must be submitted via our online Grant Management System (GMS) by the lead applicant.
Log into your account, go to ‘My applications’ where you will see a ‘Reporting’ button next to your application which will take you to the reports.

Initial meeting with the Academy
Unlike the Ingenious grants scheme, you will not be required to attend a kick-off workshop or to complete a project planning template. However we would like to schedule a meeting between the lead applicant and the public engagement team and evaluation consultant Ben Gammon, to discuss the project and any changes and establish expectations and support available.

Initiation Report
This must be completed on the Grants Management System shortly after your project has started, please refer to your contract for the exact date. This does not require a template report, simply log on and complete the short online form.
Pre-project questionnaires
You will not be required to ask participating engineers to complete pre-project questionnaires.
Interim Report
On the Grant Management System this is called Report (1). This report must be completed and submitted midway through your project, please refer to your contract to find the exact date.
The reporting form on the grants management system asks a few initial questions, please answer as outlined below:
- Scheme type: Please select PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT (Ingenious)
- Amendments: Please select yes or no. If yes, please type ‘see report’
The report
- Do you have an Academy mentor: Select ‘no’
- Progress report: Complete and upload the Interim Report form using the template provided.
- Expenditure statement: Please upload a signed document on headed paper showing current spend against the cost categories set out in your application form, as shown on template provided.
Data
Please note the Data section is optional at this stage, please enter 0 or N/A if you do not have this information.
Please click submit once files have been uploaded.
Final Report
On the Grant Management System this is called Report (2). This report must be completed and submitted at the end of your project, please refer to your contract for the exact date.

- Amendments: Please select yes or no. If yes, please type ‘see report’
The report
- Do you have an Academy mentor: Select ‘no’
- Progress report: Complete and upload the Final Report form and separate Key metrics table, using the templates provided.
- Expenditure statement: Please upload a signed document on headed paper showing final spend against the cost categories set out in your application form, as shown on template provided. Please ensure this information is accurate as it will affect your final payment. If you have an underspend this will be reflected in your final payment

Engagement and impact activities – please complete all relevant sections and click submit once complete and files have been uploaded.
The Ingenious Follow on Fund is funded through a grant from the Department for Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT). The Academy has a responsibility to report on the success and outcomes of the funding it provides. Therefore, this evaluation and reporting information is very important.
