INVITATION ONLY
An event created by women, led by women, for women in engineering
The Academy's flagship INWED Leadership Lunch on 18 June connects the next generation of engineers with senior industry leaders, providing an opportunity to share advice, insights, and stories of resilience in an ever-changing complex world. We are inviting an exclusive group of inspirational women to join, who will leave empowered and ready to make a difference in engineering.
Engineering talent is lost every year. Why? Over a third of UK engineering graduates choose to enter other fields, and the profession suffers from a mid-career retention issue, with research by the Engineering Council showing the average age of women leaving the profession is 43, in contrast to 60 for men. As a result, women represent only 16.9% of the engineering sector. A lack of engineering women role models, perception gaps, and non-inclusive cultures, have all contributed to this gender imbalance - but together, we can change this.
This year’s INWED theme is Engineering Intelligence
Technology is inherently intelligent - but behind every piece of successful technology, is a team of engineers working together to make it a reality. How does human creativity and technological innovation combine to solve complex changes? How does different ways of thinking drive inclusive progress?
We are pleased to have Academy CEO Dame Tamara Finkelstein DCB chair this event and panel discussion for the first time ever, with a lineup of leading women engineers. Together they will explore how we can all take part in engineering intelligence for the future, followed by a networking lunch where you will get the opportunity to meet and connect with everyone involved.
Be part of change
