Few engineers have had as direct an impact on Formula One performance as Paddy Lowe.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Paddy has held senior technical roles at leading teams including McLaren, Mercedes and Williams, contributing to over 150 race wins and 12 world championships. His work has encompassed advanced control systems, simulation technologies and performance optimisation.
Paddy’s engineering leadership has been central to the development of high-performance racing systems at the cutting edge of automotive technology.
More recently, Paddy has turned his focus to sustainability as founder of Zero Petroleum, developing synthetic fuels as an alternative to fossil fuels.
He was elected Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2015.
