Dr Hunt has built a research group toward the vision ‘robots for a safer world’, organised around multi-robot or swarm systems for three main applications: environmental monitoring, emergency services and security. Multi-robot systems are the frontier for better understanding ecosystem processes across wide spatial and temporal scales; for helping firefighters, for example, search dangerous buildings; and for safeguarding critical national infrastructure. Dr Hunt is also co-investigator on an EPSRC grant toward trustworthy human-robot teaming (2023-26).
