Research Fellowships 2019
Dr He aims to develop cost-effective energy storage and flexible energy technologies for maximising the use and integration of variable renewable energy sources, within the national and international contexts. Energy storage technologies today offer society an opportunity to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. However, they are still too expensive to be widely deployed in both developed and developing countries. Dr He will develop mechanical and thermal energy storage technologies that leverage low-cost storage forms of energy, water, and food to minimise the cost of using intermittent renewable energy and simultaneously ensure a just net zero transition and development.
