Research Chairs and Senior Research Fellowships 2020-21
AI is continuing to make progress in many settings, fuelled by data availability and computational power, but it is widely acknowledged that it cannot fully benefit society without addressing its widespread inability to explain its outputs, causing human mistrust and doubts regarding regulatory compliance. Extensive research efforts are currently devoted towards explainable AI. However, for the most part these efforts have focused on static explanations that cannot account for and benefit from human input.
