Dr Lakshmi Lavanya Parimi

Visiting Professor

Dr Lakshmi L Parimi has over 15 years of experience in additive manufacturing materials and processing for aerospace applications. As a Principal Research Specialist at GKN Aerospace, she has led several successful industrialisation projects. She is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of IOM3 and serves on the BSI standards committee. Lakshmi has supervised several PhD students and mentored undergraduates throughout her career. As a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at Teesside University, she will integrate industry-aligned concepts into teaching, enhance and contribute to curriculum strategy through sustainable manufacturing and materials selection, and encourage more women to pursue engineering careers through outreach sessions.
