About the XYZ
New Scots Connect linked engineers with New Scots, including refugees and asylum seekers and those with diverse migration backgrounds in Scotland. Creative engineering-themed activities, a youth-led engineering community project and field visits are just some of the initiatives that supported the development of transferable skills and technical English language as well as cross-cultural exchange and learning.
Using these approaches, the project team extended the reach of the project to support youth workers and other refugee and migrant support organisations across Scotland and the UK to engage with engineering, showcasing diverse migrant voices.
