Dr Thientunyakit has created a database which can be used to cross-reference the PET scan results of patients suspected of developing dementia and other brain-related health concerns, enhancing our ability to detect and diagnose such abnormalities in a shorter period of time. By projecting the abnormal areas of increased and/or decreased deposition of the radiotracer in the brain, a brain map image with highlighted areas can be produced, inclusive of quantitative score values indicative of how at-risk each highlighted area is. This database is also able to be further integrated with other brain analysis software.
