Supawadee Tubglam
Supawadee Tubglam is an assistant professor for the Faculty of Nursing at Thammasat University, and a Senior Fellow for the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF). She serves as a national curriculum assessor, appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education, and since 2015 has earned 51 international awards, including being the first Thai innovator to receive the platinum award from the 2015 Taipei International Invention Show. She was the first nurse to win five consecutive National Outstanding Innovation Awards from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and is an active board member for the Research Innovation Network (RIN), appointed by the NRCT.
Her innovation, the AI Lung Sound Controlled Paediatric Posture-Gyro Bed, is an innovative 'smart bed' that, through AI technology, detects abnormal lung sounds from the patient, and automatically adjusts to the ideal therapeutic position in response. It also integrates a chest vibrator, and side-to-side rotation at a therapeutic angle, to enhance secretion clearance and postural drainage, all without disturbing the patients sleep. The bed features a user-friendly monitor, vertical side guard rails, and a purpose-built bed strap to securely restrain the patient during movement, ensuring the users safety throughout the tilt-up process. Its versatility allows it to be used in both home and hospital settings, providing a practical and adaptable solution for caregivers and healthcare providers.
