Dr Sony Padilla Aquino
Sony Padilla Aquino is a registered biosystems and agricultural engineer, professor, and faculty member of Nueva Vizcaya State University. As a faculty member and innovator of over 25 years, he has extensive experience in generating and transferring socially-impactful technologies in the field of renewable energy and waste treatment. From 2018 to 2023, he worked as the Director of Nueva Vizcaya Climate Change Centre, now residing as the Chief of the Intellectual Property Right Office for the University, responsible for the IP management and commercialisation of technology and knowledge derived from government-funded R&D activities.
His innovation is a ground-breaking biogas digester offering a superior solution for sustainable waste management and clean energy generation. It is able to significantly reducing odours, pathogens, and greenhouse gas emissions, while increasing biogas production and lowering operating costs.
