Dr Siti Fauziah Toha
Dr Siti Fauziah Toha, Professor of AI at IIUM’s Faculty of Engineering and Deputy Director at IIUM Academy, specialises in AI optimisation, assistive devices, and renewable energy. A chartered engineer, and a key accreditation panellist with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), she has led 45 projects, published over 100 papers, and holds a h-Index of 18. Named a Top Research Scientist Malaysia by Akademisains in 2023, she is also the Vice President of PERINTIS Malaysia, and serves on ASM’s Energy Committee and Net Zero Task Force. Her work includes shaping Malaysia's NPSTI 2021-2030 for sustainable industry growth.
Her innovation, RoVision, is an AI-powered assistive device designed to enhance mobility and independence for visually impaired individuals, elderly people, and those in rehabilitation. By using bio-inspired algorithms, it predicts routes, avoids obstacles, and enables coordinated group travel, making navigation easier and safer for those most in need. RoVision’s innovative dual-configuration design can function as both a cane and a robotic guide, providing users with the flexibility and support that is unmatched by other bulky, costly, and limited-function alternatives.
