Dr Marco Antonio Lopez Trinidad
Dr Marco Antonio Lopez Trinidad is a scientist with broad national and international experience in managing technological projects across industry, government and academia. He has been a keen contributor to the creation and development of scientific research centres, such as the AI Lab of the National Advanced Informatics Laboratory (LANIA), and the Artificial intelligence Centre for Industrial Innovation (CIIIA). Examples of other projects that Dr Trinidad has helped to spearhead include the development of a Wireless Sensor Network, and the implementation of an IoT system with embedded wireless sensors in a laboratory for Intel.
Dr Trinidad's innovation is a medical software abstraction layer designed to transform devices into commercial healthcare appliances and healthcare-focused widgets, including wearables, mobile tablets, and smartphones. Since these devices already include micro-sensors used to measure vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, etc, and are enabled with Bluetooth communication interfaces, the abstraction layer can share these findings with sophisticated software tools stored in the cloud to provide a more quick and accurate diagnosis of illness and healthcare-related issues, as well as proposed routes for treatment. The proposed layer is also enabled with an API software that can blend device readings to build tools and graphic dashboards to support the physicians in their diagnosis and treatment of patient-related issues.
