Bárbara Silva
Designer Bárbara Silva has worked extensively with graphic and product design, brand management, and content creation for digital and printed media outlets. Specialising in UX design, marketing and E-commerce, and project management, she has broad experience in managing innovation and cultural projects as an entrepreneur in the design, arts and sustainable fashion industry.
Her innovation, Teciteca & Teci, is a museum of scrap fabrics that would otherwise be discarded by the textile industry, the second highest polluting in the world in regards to its production chain. In addition to selling scrap fabrics, and products made from scrap fabrics, in partnership with local creators, the enterprise emphasises education and documentation, being the first virtual fabric museum in Brazil with free public access, and the maintenance of a digital fabric catalogue collected and qualitatively analysed by type of fabric, weight, dyeing, pattern, among other factors.
