Alejandro Velez Patrouilleau
Alejandro Velez Patrouilleau is a physics engineer with a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, and programming. Passionate about technology and innovation, he has gained experience in firmware, hardware, and software development, with his interest in energy transition and sustainable solutions leading him to co-found Unergo. As co-Founder and CTO, he leads the development of technologies that drive electric mobility solutions in Colombia through battery swap stations.
Unergo is a battery swapping system for electric motorcycles that addresses two major barriers in electric mobility: charging time and acquisition cost. This innovation reduces the time from 4 hours of charging to just 30 seconds of swapping, making electric motorcycles a practical solution for daily transportation. Unergo offers batteries as a service, which means that users do not have to purchase, and maintain, the most expensive component of an electric vehicle. This approach not only reduces the initial cost of acquiring an electric motorcycle, thereby improving accessibility, but also provides a service that guarantees users always have a fully charged battery to continue their ride.
