Yuwares Malila
Yuwares Malila received her PhD in Food Science from Michigan State University and joined BIOTEC as a researcher in 2013. With her expertise in Molecular biology for muscle foods and Food technology, she has conducted research that has helped to define biological pathways associated with chicken meat abnormalities and the development of shelf-stable specialized diets.
NuBlend creates blended food that is shelf-stable for 24 months without any addition of chemical preservatives. The formula has been designed to combine natural ingredients, high-quality proteins and omega 3-containing fatty acids without added sugar to meet specific nutritional requirements and is intended for individuals suffering from chewing and swallowing difficulties or showing decreased consciousness. The innovative formula won't aggregate during the sterilisation process, giving appropriate food texture and flow ability in a feeding tube.
