Javier Mauricio Betancur

Javier is a mechanical engineer who loves making machinery that saves lives. He created tecnologías marte to bring to the market solutions to help thousands of people in Colombia, which once was the second most landmine affected country only surpassed by Afghanistan. These innovations have been awarded several national and international awards in fields like robotics, materials, electromagnetics, and environmental protection. 
 

INSECT is used to deactivate landmines and unexploded ordnance by burning them from a safe distance. It can also be used to initiate explosive charges in mining, reducing dangerous gases and overall costs which uses nonexplosive unrestricted materials that can even be transported on airplanes.
