Komal Shah is a product design engineer with a master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Science and deep experience in women’s health innovation. She worked on an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council-funded project on secure ultrasound for women’s health, and holds patents in wearable healthcare technology. Now leading Periwinkle Labs as CEO and co-founder, she focuses on building practical, user-friendly solutions for pelvic health. Her background in design, clinical research, and medical-device quality systems makes her well-suited to create safe, accessible solutions for urinary incontinence.

Her innovation is a wearable device that uses gentle electrical stimulation to train and strengthen pelvic muscles, helping women reduce urine leakage in a simple, reliable way. Today’s options are either time-consuming exercises or costly clinic treatments that many women cannot maintain. This device brings the same clinically proven therapy into daily life through a comfortable, app-guided system. It removes the embarrassment and effort usually tied to the condition, while giving women a private, affordable, and evidence-based alternative that fits easily into their routine.
