Dr Hoang Nguyen
Dr Hoang Nguyen is a horticultural scientist and cooperative extension researcher. He earned his PhD from the University of Florida, and completed post-doctoral training at the University of California. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Research Centre for High-tech Application in Agriculture at the University of Science. His professional interests span plant biology, sustainable agriculture, and agricultural education. Specifically, his current research focuses on plant biomass technologies and plant-microbe interactions
Dr Nguyen has developed advanced biostimulant formulations and technologies, including an induction technique for generating high-density, water-dispersible Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) spores. This innovation allows AMF—which forms symbiotic relationships with nearly 80% of all plant species—to be easily applied via drone or drip irrigation. The resulting products enhance plant health and crop yields while significantly reducing reliance on chemical inputs.
