Dr Akanksha Rohit holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University, specialising in next-generation wearable sensors using smart textiles, wearables, and printed electronics. After her PhD, she worked as a senior electronics engineer for an early-stage startup developing lab-on-a-chip devices for cancer therapy. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship where she developed a wearable biosensing device that became the foundation for her current venture. As co-founder and CEO of Yura, she is developing India's first medical-grade wearable biofeedback device for chronic stress management and mental wellbeing. She is passionate about creating personalised health solutions that detect issues early and provide actionable insights. Her journey from academia to entrepreneurship showcases her commitment to translating complex technical concepts into practical healthcare solutions.

Yura transforms Heart Rate Variability (HRV) biofeedback therapy, clinically proven for anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and stress management into a wearable medical device. The device continuously monitors autonomic nervous system function and automatically delivers therapeutic haptic-guided breathing interventions when stress escalation is detected. By providing objective physiological data to both patients and healthcare providers, Yura enables data-driven mental health management and makes evidence-based biofeedback therapy accessible beyond specialised clinical facilities.
