Dr Ahmad Al-Jaafreh
Dr Ahmad Al-Jaafreh is a professor of Intelligent Systems with extensive experience in applied AI, embedded systems, and educational technology. He has worked with deep learning, computer vision, and language technologies for many years and has led several funded projects focused on practical, real-world solutions. His work with children, educators, and therapists in Jordan has helped him to understand the challenges autistic children face in learning Arabic. This experience, combined with his technical background, qualifies him to design tools that are both effective and accessible for families and schools.
The innovation is an interactive AI device that helps children with autism to practice Arabic through short, guided conversations and simple tasks. It supports children who struggle with language and social communication by offering clear responses, predictable interaction, and a safe space to practice. It works offline to protect privacy and remain affordable for families and schools. Unlike general apps or imported tools that are costly or not designed for Arabic, this device is built for the needs of Arabic-speaking children and adapts to each child’s pace, making learning more engaging and more accessible.
