By connecting and empowering early- to mid-career researchers, innovators, and practitioners from around the world, this symposium will explore innovative, context-appropriate, and sustainable strategies to strengthen assistive technology (AT) solutions, with a particular focus on low-resource settings. To better understand the format and outcomes of our symposia, please familiarise yourself with the structure by reading some of our previous event reports.
Costs
The Academy will book and cover the costs and logistics to support your participation, including travel, accommodation and subsistence. If you require a carer to accompany you, we are happy to cover their travel and subsistence as well. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss any additional access needs or caring responsibilities.
Accessibility
The Academy is committed to removing barriers that may prevent individuals from applying to or joining the event. We actively encourage candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds, especially those with lived experience of disabilities or who use assistive technology. If there is anything we can do to support your application or participation, whether related to mobility, communication, sensory needs, or any other access requirement, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. Any information you choose to share about your disability, access requirements, or use of assistive technology will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely to support your participation in the event. One of the aims of this event is to ensure meaningful inclusion of people with lived experience of disability and assistive technology. Sharing this information, if you feel comfortable doing so, helps us better understand the diversity of our participants and may strengthen your application, as we are actively seeking to include such perspectives. Your answers will never be used to exclude or disadvantage you in any way.
Participant commitment
In return, we ask that you commit to attending all sessions across the event, including external activities, dinners, and receptions. Full participation is important to ensure that networking opportunities are fully maximised. Please ensure you are available for the entire duration of the event.
Places are limited and competitive
Submitting this form does not guarantee a place, but you should expect to hear from us at the latest by the beginning of September 2025 if you have been successfully selected. The form is assessed on a rolling basis - due to the volume of applications we receive, we do not usually contact unsuccessful candidates.
A detailed outline of your expertise and interests will improve your chance of selection.
