AWARDEES ONLY
This session is focused on the transformative power of engineering in sustainable development. This event offers a unique opportunity to discover how the Royal Academy of Engineering is advancing solutions to global challenges through its Sustainable Development programmes, including Engineering X and Africa programmes.
Led by Meredith Ettridge, Associate Director for Global Challenges, the session will highlight the Academy’s vision for creating a safer, healthier, and more prosperous world. Meredith will share updates on current projects and discuss how the Academy is working with partners worldwide to maximise engineering’s positive impact—now and looking ahead to 2030.
Participants are invited to contribute their perspectives and expertise, helping to shape the Academy’s future priorities from a foresighting perspective. The session will explore where and how engineering can make the greatest difference, drawing on the experiences and local contexts of the Awardee Excellence Community.
After the main presentation, delegates will be invited to join breakout discussions or Q&A sessions, providing a platform to share ideas, ask questions, and connect with Academy experts and peers. You’ll leave with practical insights, new connections, and clear routes for future engagement—whether as an ambassador, champion, or by joining committees and working groups.
