FELLOWS ONLY
As part of the President's regional visits programme, Vice-President for Fellowship Engagement Professor Nick Jennings CB FREng FRS will be hosting an afternoon at Loughborough University. The afternoon will open with a networking lunch, followed by two exclusive tours:
- The Sports Technology Institute, where the joint winners of 2023 Bhattacharyya Award developed sports equipment and clothing for improved performance, safety and inclusivity that has brought iconic products to market such as World Cup footballs and more advanced cricket helmets that have eliminated facial injuries among professional helmeted batters.
- Aftrak were winners of the $1 million Milken-Motsepe Prize in Green Energy global competition and is a groundbreaking initiative that combines solar microgrids and tailored tractors to empower smallholder farmers across Africa.
This is a great opportunity for Midlands Fellows to engage with the president and build foundations for further regional activity in the future.
