INVITATION ONLY
This webinar is specifically designed for the awardees and alumni of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s supported programmes based in UK. You must be located in the UK at the time of the meeting to attend.
You are required to use your institutional email to register for the event. The event will not be recorded. It is also not permissible to use any transcription and/or recording applications.
The session will be chaired by Dr Andrew Clark, Executive Director, Programmes, Royal Academy of Engineering who will be joined by the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA), the UK Government’s National Technical Authority for Physical and Personnel Protective Security.
Why should you attend?
We are now working in a more dynamic and open way than ever before with research partners across the globe. If you are engaged in sensitive or cutting-edge STEM research, use commercially or ethically sensitive data and collaborate with international research partners, or are likely to do so in the future, then this session will be relevant to you.
International collaboration will continue to be key to the success of the UK Research and Innovation sector. This session, delivered in collaboration with NPSA, will provide you with a deeper understanding of the Academy's National Security-Related Risks Policy and offer guidance on how to manage potential risks to you, your research and national security. By attending, you'll gain the knowledge to approach international research collaboration with confidence.
NPSA will also present valuable insights into Trusted Research, a guidance framework developed jointly by NPSA and the NCSC. The UK has a thriving research and innovation sector that attracts investment from across the world, and Trusted Research supports the integrity of this system by offering advice and guidance to help keep sensitive research and intellectual property secure from theft, misuse or exploitation. Designed in partnership with the sector, it provides essential information for researchers, university staff and funding organisations to navigate international research collaboration securely.
