PUBLIC EVENT
What did 2025 mean for engineering? What does it tell us about the future?
From AI ambitions to infrastructure challenges, climate resilience to cybersecurity, this year has tested and transformed engineering in the UK and beyond. As 2025 draws to a close, we’re inviting you to join us for our Engineering review of the year, a lively panel event which brings together leading voices to reflect on the year’s defining moments through an engineering lens.
This year’s panel features:
-
Dr Hayaatun Sillem CBE, CEO of the Royal Academy of Engineering
-
Professor Richard Dawson FREng, Newcastle University
-
Dr David Smith FREng, National Technology Adviser
Together, they’ll unpack the key news stories and global events that have shaped and been shaped by the engineering landscape — including the UK’s industrial strategy, ambitions in AI, the drive to expand nuclear energy, and the evolving role of engineering in climate adaptation and infrastructure resilience.
Who should attend?
Join us in London and connect with fellow curious minds from across the UK engineering community, including professional engineers, academics, entrepreneurs, investors and decision makers from across policy and industry.
