AWARDEES ONLY
Our first Academy Insights event focuses on international engineering diplomacy. This event offers a unique opportunity to discover how the Royal Academy of Engineering is positioning itself as a global platform for dialogue, partnership, and innovation.
Led by Shane McHugh, Associate Director of Engineering Diplomacy, the session will introduce the new Engineering Diplomacy Hub - a pioneering initiative designed to modernise diplomatic tools and address critical challenges in talent, technology, investment, and supply chains. Shane will share insights into the Academy’s international collaborations, the strategic vision behind the Hub, and how these efforts are shaping the future of engineering worldwide.
Participants will gain practical knowledge about expanding research opportunities, building international partnerships, and increasing their visibility within the global engineering community. We will also showcase upcoming international engineering diplomacy activities, including annual surveys and knowledge-sharing roundtables.
After the main presentation, delegates will be invited to join breakout discussions or Q&A sessions, offering a chance to engage directly with Shane and the Academy team. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how you can support and benefit from the Academy’s international diplomacy work, as well as actionable routes for future engagement.
