FELLOWS ONLY
In recent years, there have been several updates to the engineering excellence criteria for Fellowship candidates and Proposer guidance. The President and Trustee Board also introduced the Fellowship Fit for the Future initiative in 2020 designed to encourage nominations that capture the full breadth and diversity of outstanding engineering, both in terms of the diversity of people but also of engineering sectors and organisations. In light of these changes, a workshop is being held for Fellows to make the process and timelines for Fellowship nominations clearer.
The workshop will include Catriona Schmolke FREng, Vice President for Fellowship Engagement and Chair of Membership Panel 2 (Mining and Materials), Tony Harper FREng, Chair of Membership Panel 5 (Transport and Mechanical), as well as key staff. They will brief Fellows on aspects of the process of nominating online, tips and techniques for good citation writing, the presentation of evidence of engineering achievements and the importance of referee selection, among other items.
The workshop will also provide an opportunity for Fellows to ask any questions about the process for Fellowship nominations to get a better insight, and for those who have never put forward a nomination before, a chance to be better informed as to the requirements. It will also provide opportunities for Fellows to share their views on the process via a Q&A session.
