To mark the occassion of the Hinton Lecture's 40th anniversary, we were delighted to be joined by Gitanjali Rao who is an inventor, author, scientist and engineer.
At aged 15, Gitanjali was named Time magazine's 2020 Kid of the Year. Her inventions range from a mobile device that tests for traces of lead in drinking water and an app that uses artificial intelligence to detect cyberbullying at an early stage.
Gitanjali hopes to inspire others to come up with ideas that solve the world's problems. During this year's Hinton Lecture, Gitanjali shared her reflections on STEM and innovation, and addressed what more can be done to encourage young people to join the profession.
