The Royal Academy of Engineering has launched a new online Q&A series to explore the different ways that the engineering profession is contributing to the COVID-19 response. Through a series of interviews with engineers involved in innovative projects and multidisciplinary efforts, we will highlight the ways in which the community has mobilised to rapidly add expertise to the ongoing battle against the virus, and learn lessons from innovating and scaling at pace.
Dr Helen Meese spoke about her involvement with the Nightingale Hospitals, coordinating the engineering profession to volunteer as auxiliary engineers. She was joined by Professor Richard Kitney who spoke about his experience of deploying his healthcare technology (Visbion data cubes) within the Nightingale Hospitals. The Q&A session was chaired by Professor Mark Miodownik MBE FREng.
