The Royal Academy of Engineering has launched a new online Q&A series to explore the different ways that the engineering profession is contributing to the COVID-19 response. Through a series of interviews with engineers involved in innovative projects and multidisciplinary efforts, we will highlight the ways in which the community has mobilised to rapidly add expertise to the ongoing battle against the virus, and learn lessons from innovating and scaling at pace.
Working from home has been a staple for many during the pandemic, but not everyone can work remotely. Tharsus have developed Bump, a wearable system based on radio frequency technology to help businesses get back to work in physical workplaces in a socially distant way. Smith & Nephew are a medical equipment manufacturing company who have been involved in piloting the technology.
The event was chaired by Ana Avaliani, Royal Academy of Engineering Associate Director, Business Improvement
