Upskilling and educating UK engineers through partnership
The supply of engineering talent in the UK is shaped by a complex and evolving ecosystem of education, training and professional development. The pathways into engineering are diverse but not always coherent or accessible.
The skills centre seeks to address this by bringing together expertise to build a world-leading skills base for UK engineering and technology businesses. Based on a partnership model, it will complement, add value to, and reinforce existing efforts to enhance the UK’s skill provision and it success will rely on rigorous feedback and iteration.
Why become a partner?
The skills centre will be a hub for member educators, skills organisations and industry partners. This ongoing collaboration will provide a space for partners to share their evolving needs, insights and feedback on resources and services. In return, partners will receive tailored updates on new research, lessons learned and programme activities to help drive continuous improvement across the skills ecosystem.
To initiate this the skills centre will build partnerships by:
How we will build partnerships to boost skills
Engage Further Education colleges and universities and build partnerships with skills organisations
Work with Professional institutions, Engineering Council and EngUK
Develop partnerships with Innovation centres and national laboratories
Broaden engagement with employers
Partner with the skills centre
We are continually building on our existing network of industry partners and actively looking to connect with partners who can help to shape the future of engineering education.
Partner benefits
- Access to exclusive resources and training materials.
