Does the budget stated in the ITT include any travel and accommodation costs for trainees/participants to attend the UK residential training (should it take place in person), or will these costs be covered by the Academy?

During the UK Residential and the local in-country training events (if in person), the travel expenses (flights and hotels) and any venue, meals and refreshments for LIF innovators will be provided by the Academy. 

Does the budget stated in the ITT include any travel and accommodation for trainees/participants to attend the local in-country training events (should these take place in person), or will these costs be covered by the Academy?

Participants will be responsible for any costs related to personal travel or social activities not included in their planned programme of activities. Mentors’ and delivery partner staff’s expenses will not be covered by the Academy.

Please can you advise if the indicative pricing budgets given on page 5 are inclusive or exclusive of VAT?    

Generally our suppliers do not pay VAT as this is not required by law but this price is exclusive of VAT if you think that you need to pay it. 

On page 5 of the ITT the value of the mentoring programme is stated as up to £125k per annum.  On page 6 an indicative price of £100k is given and £2,083 x 60 is £124,980.  Can we assume that the figure is £125k not £100k? 

It’s a suggested breakdown to show the anticipated priorities so is not exact but yes £125k can be 

Page 8 para 3 refers to ‘access to expert coaches in developing business plans’ please can you clarify is this referring to the mentors or are these separate coaches in addition to the mentors? 

The mentors, or additional mentors if the specific mentor does not have this expertise.

Please advise whether Annex 1 should be counted as part of the total 90-page limit for the submission.

Please can you clarify whether we need to cost in for in-country training venues?   

No, these are covered by our in country partners.

On page 16 Graphic Design Support is listed as one of the topics for content for the training. Please can you expand on what is expected?  i.e is training in basic principles required or more hands on practical support?  

This is optional – previous suppliers have worked with a graphic designer to help create logos, design pitches and marketing material but this is not compulsory.

Please can you clarify what costs should be included by the supplier for the UK residential event.  On Page 17 the ITT states that the UK residential event will take place at a central London venue and one or two other UK locations and that ‘Any venue, meals and refreshment for the LIF innovators will be provided by the Academy’ – does this relate only to the London venue or also other UK locations?   

We will cover everything for the innovators and the Academy staff, including the venue costs.  You should include any travel and subsistence for trainers, mentors and admin staff.

Please can you give an indication of the number of mentoring hours each LIF participant (including group sessions) will be expected to receive.

Page 21 Considerations – states ‘all expenses paid for participants for training in London’. Does the payment of all expenses also extend to the other locations required for the residential event? 

Yes.

On page-5 and page-6 of the ITT, there seems to be an error in the sum total. Are the total costs derived as

• Training programme (up to £650,000) + Mentoring programme (up to £100,000) = Total £750,000 or
• Training programme (up to £625,000) + Mentoring programme (up to £125,000) = Total £750,000 

The suggested split is £650,000 for training and £100,000 for mentoring. However, the breakdown of costs is indicative and not prescriptive.  The supplier could suggest a breakdown of their own in order to create the best impact. 

Phase Two  - Duration

• Page 12: “Bidders should provide a proposal for both a 3-day in-country training event and a 10-day online training programme for this phase.”
• Page 13: “In the event that the training for this phase needs to be delivered online, it is expected that a 5-day programme should be delivered instead, using a variety of learning methods via the Innovators online platform”. 

The suggested duration is a 5-day online programme. However, the number of days is given as guidance and can be modified for best impact.

Selection criteria and scoring table – Section: Track record

Page 28: Experience of successful delivery of similar programmes: Score: 0-5; Weighting: 2; Max Points: is mentioned as 15.

This also means the sub-sections in the scoring table total to 105. Should we consider Max points as 10?
