Professor Jin-Guang Teng is a global leader in the field of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites for construction. He pioneered the theory of FRP-strengthened concrete structures and invented several innovative technologies and concepts, such as FRP-steel-concrete double-skin tubular members. He is also a world-leading expert on metal shell structures. Many of his research findings have been adopted by design codes or implemented in practice in the UK, Europe, China, the US and Australia with huge global impact. As the President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he has greatly enhanced the capacity and impact of the institution.
