John Moran’s vision for innovative combustor technology has made essential contributions to world-leading Rolls-Royce gas-turbines across the military, marine, industrial, and civil aerospace sectors. At Rolls-Royce, he led technology acquisition in UK, Germany, the US, and the Middle East as Global Corporate Specialist for Combustion. In 2015 he was appointed Loughborough University’s Professor in Practice of Combustion Technology. His drive and foresight created unique facilities in its National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology. John’s focus on academia/industry technology collaboration has been vital to the centre’s recent success in developing and validating technology for low carbon initiatives including sustainable aviation fuels and hydrogen.
