Dr Sofia Guerra has played pivotal roles in the safety and assurance of digital systems and is internationally recognised as an expert in dependability assessment and justification of digital systems in the nuclear industry. As a leader and entrepreneur, she led Adelard's growth until its acquisition in 2022. In 2025, she set up a new company, Themistoclea. Sofia has pioneered the UK’s approach to justifying digital devices for nuclear facilities, impacting major projects including UK nuclear projects, and has shaped approaches to safety assurance internationally. She has authored IAEA reports and is a key contributor to AI innovation in nuclear applications.
