Dr Eleanor Schofield undertakes world-leading research at the interface between engineering and conservation. Her pioneering work to preserve the historic Mary Rose ship has provided new fundamental understanding on predicting and testing material behaviour in challenging environments. She is responsible for the care and management of the collection and research into novel conservation treatments and characterisation methods. She shares her insights with the wider community, disseminating knowledge through teaching and outreach activities, leveraging public interest in the Mary Rose to promote engineering to new audiences.
