The Academy has a long and successful track record of working with partners to achieve its aims. In the context of our international affairs, key partners include the European Council of Applied Sciences and Engineering (Euro-CASE) and the International Council of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), engineering academies in other countries and the UK Government.

The Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), is an international alliance of independent, non-governmental institutions, providing a forum for the consideration of technology-related issues of global significance

UK government


The UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN) is based in 28 countries and 47 cities around the world. SIN officers engage with the local science and innovation community in support of UK policy overseas. They create strategic relationships to harness the value of science and innovation discoveries and investments overseas, leading to mutual UK and host-country benefits.


The Research Councils UK (RCUK) mission is to optimise the ways that Research Councils work together to deliver their goals, to enhance the overall performance and impact of UK research, training and knowledge transfer and to be recognised by academia, business and government for excellence in research sponsorship. The overall aim of RCUK is for the Research Councils to be recognised as the benchmark around the world in terms of the impact they have and the ways they work.

The Royal Society

The Royal Society is the national Academy of science in the UK, a self-governing Fellowship of many of the world’s most distinguished scientists drawn from all areas of science, engineering, and medicine.  The Society’s fundamental purpose, reflected in its founding Charters of the 1660s, is to recognise, promote, and support excellence in science and to encourage the development and use of science for the benefit of humanity.

British Academy

The British Academy is an independent national academy of Fellows elected for their eminence in research and publication. It is the UK's expert body that supports and speaks for the humanities and social sciences.

The Academy of Medical Sciences

The Academy of Medical Sciences is the independent body in the UK that represents the diverse spectrum of medical science – from basic research through clinical application to healthcare delivery. Our mission is to promote medical science and its translation into benefits for society.
