The next Frontiers of Development symposium will take place between 2-4 March 2020 in Istanbul, Turkey, focusing on the theme of disaster resilience. This event will be in partnership with Boğaziçi University. The event will expect to explore themes such as:
Understanding vulnerabilities and crisis points, including systemic vulnerabilities
Embedding disaster resilience into broader development interventions
Efficient post-disaster recovery phase that supports wellbeing
The importance of governance in resilience building
Sharing best practise and lessons learned
Please note, the Academy will cover all costs of travel, accommodation and subsistence related to this event.
Symposia 4-6: Building Resilience Series
Urban Crisis Resilience | Disaster Resilience | Resilient Resource Use
This series of the Frontiers of Development programme focused on Building Resilience. The programme brings together early-mid career participants from engineering, medical, social and natural science backgrounds across industry, academia, government and NGOs, for 2.5 day symposia with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the heart of them.
