Currently BAE Systems invests over £80M per annum in UK education, training and skills-related activities, including training over 1,000 apprentices and 800 graduates at any one time and working with 30 UK universities. The company uses a number of innovative projects to try and engage more people in engineering. For example a long-term technology partnership with UK Sport has provided engineering support to over 20 different Olympic and Paralympic sports including eventing, sailing, taekwondo, bob-skeleton, speed-skating and wheelchair racing.
