The 2019 MacRobert Award-winning team of engineers from Bombardier will share their success story behind the development of their eco-designed advanced composite wing that minimises an aircraft’s environmental impact by reducing both weight and fuel burn in flight, and waste during manufacture.

The MacRobert Award, first presented in 1969, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It is the UK's longest-running and most prestigious national prize for engineering innovation and honours the winning organisation with a gold medal, and the team members a cash prize of £50,000. The presentation of the Award recognises outstanding innovation, tangible societal benefit and proven commercial success.
