Join us at this special event to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation and help our distinguished judging panel select the 2019 winner.

For the past eight months, 16 talented entrepreneurs from Burkina Faso, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia have undertaken intensive training and mentoring from international business leaders and experts.

On Tuesday 4 June, four finalists will pitch their businesses for the chance to win £25,000 and the 2019 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation.

Three runners-up will win £10,000 each, and the entire shortlist will showcase their innovations at an open exhibition.

We are delighted to announce that Mariéme Jamme, Founder, IAMTHECODE and Co-Founder, Africa Gathering will deliver a keynote speech, and will be joined by Dr Ibilola Amao, Founder and Principal Consultant, Lonadek, for a fireside chat and Q&A. There will also be appearances from previous Africa Prize winners and alumni.

The Royal Academy of Engineering established the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation to stimulate, celebrate and reward innovation and entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa. Find out more here.
