Tours of the university include:

  • Centre for Precision Technologies - a centre of excellence for collaborative metrology research, solving real-world manufacturing problems through cutting-edge metrology research in precision engineering.
  • Institute of Railway Research - a world leading centre in the field of railway engineering and risk.
  • Microscopes and Ion Accelerators for Materials Investigation – these facilities are a unique group of instruments combining ion irradiation with transmission electron microscopy. Constructed with funding from the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, it is the only such facility in the UK and one of only two in Europe, the other being the JANNuS laboratory at Orsay in France.
  • Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering - aims to scope machinery fault detection and diagnosis of plant performance and emissions monitoring.

Tickets

Admission fee is £25 (inclusive of VAT). Lunch is included in the ticket price. Please note spaces are limited and are on a first-come first-served basis.

Cancellations

All cancellation requests must be received in writing via email to Events Team. A request for cancellation (and refund) will be accepted up to Thursday 21 November 2019. Royal Academy of Engineering must make commitments to suppliers at that time and making changes will result in additional costs or penalties. If the cancellation request is received after the deadline, we cannot issue a refund.
