This event is now fully booked.

Following on from the success of Professor Danielle George’s Christmas Lectures (2014), the Robot Orchestra was formed by The University of Manchester initially for the European City of Science (2016).

The Robot Orchestra uses music to encourage an interest in engineering. Young people, from as young as seven, learn computer coding and recycle things to make robot instruments that are then linked up to a robotic conductor to play music.

This event will see Professor Danielle George's Robot Orchestra perform for school children at the Academy in a show that will include exciting experiments.

In the meantime, you can see the Robot Orchestra on BBC iPlayer in Can a Robot Replace Ed Sheeran? and Danielle in Search for a New Earth with Professor Stephen Hawking.
