This workshop is an opportunity for the engineering community to share their views on the Research Consultation Framework (REF). The Academy's definition of engineering includes computer science.

The four UK Higher Education funding bodies are currently consulting on detailed arrangements for research assessment in the next Research Excellence Framework. The proposals in the consultation seek to build on REF 2014 and to incorporate the principles identified in Lord Stern's review of the REF.

The Academy will be submitting a response to the consultation and wishes to engage widely with the UK's engineering community to inform this.
