Engineering The Future
Engineering the future is an alliance of professional engineering organisations with a combined membership of 450,000 engineers. Our vision is of a thriving UK economy, based on innovative high value businesses and industries that build on our national strengths and address the grand challenges of the 21st century.
Engineering the future works to promote understanding of the contribution of engineering to the economy and society, and to increase the role of engineering in the development and delivery of national policy. We work with Government and Parliament to inform and shape key areas of policy, such as energy, national infrastructure and biomedical engineering. We promote engineering to the public, with whom we engage in dialogue and debate on the issues that matter. We also work with business and industry to create the right climate for innovation in the UK.
The leadership of Engineering the future is drawn from the following organisations:
-
Engineering Council
-
EngineeringUK
-
The Institution of
Chemical Engineers
-
The Institution of Civil
Engineers
-
The Institution of Engineering and Technology
-
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers
-
The Institute of Physics
-
The Royal Academy of Engineering
Engineering the future (1.3MB)
has launched its vision for UK engineering in the lead up to the 2010 general election.
We have also produced a flyer that summarises the
vision’s key points and are pleased to offer a
service whereby Fellows can obtain details of their
constituency prospective parliamentary candidates
should they wish to contact them and take the
discussion forward.
