Party Conferences 2010

Under the banner of Engineering the future, the professional engineering community has been working together to raise the profile of engineering and promote the contribution of engineering to the UK’s economic recovery. Working alongside Social Market Foundation, an independent think tank, a lineup of fringe events at all three conferences has been organised on the theme of “An industrial policy for the 21st century: Engineering growth in Britain”.

Each event will include a spokesperson from the party as well as an engineering leader. This year the Academy’s newly elected Fellow Jane Atkinson FREng of SembCorp Utilities will be representing the engineering community.

The engineering community’s representation at the party conferences aims to ensure that engineering has a strong presence throughout the party conferences and that the profession’s messages are communicated in a coherent and compelling way.
