Engineering Ethics at The Royal Academy of Engineering
The Royal Academy of
Engineering’s work on the ethical aspects of
engineering began with the publication in 1991 of
guidance on the paramount duty of engineers to
protect the public in the case of imminent disaster.

In 2003 The Royal Academy of
Engineering set up a working group on professional
ethics during on the view that it was timely to
debate this within our profession and with others.
The membership of the original working group was as
follows:
