Frequently Asked Questions

Monitoring/Reporting

Q10. Are there any penalties if the Secondee and Host organisation reports are not submitted to The Academy (within the requested or agreed with The Academy deadlines and/or to The Academy’s satisfaction)?

A10. The secondee’s employer (HEI) undertakes to give to The Academy a 10 % refund of the award if The Secondee and The Host End-of-secondment reports and a 5% refund if the Secondee’s End-of-Year report are not submitted to The Academy. These reports are sent to the Members of the Industrial Secondment Scheme’s Steering Group for assessment and as such serve as a measure of the success of the scheme. The secondment will be considered completed only after The Secondee and The Host reports have been completed to The Academy’s satisfaction.

Q11. Are there any guidelines for the Secondee and Host reports?

A11. Yes, there are. Please refer to the scheme information at http://www.raeng.org.uk/research/univ/secondment/

Q12. Will my progress be monitored whilst on secondment?

A12. The secondee and his/her industrial line manager are visited by the scheme manager at a mutually agreed date with a view to monitoring progress.
