Funding
Q34. I have just started my secondment and have discovered that the costs of accommodation
at the location of my host company are a lot greater than I expected. Would it be possible for The Academy
to cover those?
A34. Unfortunately, no. The Academy does not get involved in post-award negotiations related to the award values and any travel and other expenses should have been accurately presented to The Academy at the time of your application to The Academy.
Q35. How will the funding be paid?
A35. The funds are paid to your Higher Education Institution (HEI) on
receipt of an invoice from the HEI.
Q36. When are the funds paid?
A36. The funds are paid to your Higher Education Institution (HEI) as soon
as a written acceptance of the award offered, together with a signed Agreement and an invoice from
your HEI are received.
Q37. Is there a financial penalty if I do not submit any of my reports?
A37. A 10% refund of the award value will be requested from your HEI if your
End-of-secondment and Host reports are not submitted to The Academy within one month from the end of
your secondment. A 5% refund of the award value will be requested from your HEI if your End-of-year
report is not submitted to The Academy within one year from the date of your secondment.
Q38. My HEI received the full award but I was unable to complete my secondment due
to circumstances that could not be helped. Will the HEI be requested to refund the funds received?
A38. In the event of termination of the secondment, your HEI will reimburse
The Academy for that part of the award, which is outstanding on a pro-rata basis.
